DOGS R LIFE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Trial Run

Before taking on any new customers, owners and pets are subject to a meeting where Dogs R Life can meet both the owner and the pets and be able to get more information. All dog walking/pet sitting will be on a 1 month trial run to make sure the walker, owner and pet/s are happy in company of each other and that the care provided is right for them.

 

Booking

All information needed/any changes must be provided at least 24 hours before dog walking is carried out and 48 hours before pet sitting.

 

Timing

Dogs R Life may not always be able to turn up exactly at the allotted time, due to traffic, road closures and unforeseen circumstances. They will try their best to get there at the allotted time and will inform pet owners if they are likely to be over half an hour earlier/later to you/ your pets.

Cancellations

Dog walking cancellations can be made up to 24 hours notice prior without charge but any cancellation after that time will result in full charge for booking. 

Cancellation of pet sitting services can be made before 1 weeks notice without charge. Any cancellations after this period will incur a 50% charge of original booking price.

Keys

Any keys left in a “safe place” is no responsibility of Dogs R Life when not on their person. All Dogs R Life staff will leave keys where instructed and contact the owner if any issues. Any key safe box codes will only be shared between Dogs R Life staff members. 

Owners are able to leave Dogs R Life with spare keys and these keys will be kept in a locked box when not on their person and will not be left in any vehicles over night or on show. Names and addresses will not be written on the keyring of any spare keys.

Privacy Policy

All information about owners and pets will not be shared with anyone other than Dogs R Life staff unless subject to the pets healthcare, or in an emergency. Any information will be stored on a locked and secure computer. All staff members of Dogs R Life will have access to dog care plans and information about the dogs they walk and the owners. All employees know they are not allowed to share any of the customers information unless their is an emergency. 

Dogs R Life will only use pictures/ videos on social media/ website if permission is granted from the owners. Any tags on show in photos/ videos will be covered to the best of their ability.

Vet Care

The pets vet information will need to be shared before any pet walking/sitting is started. The owner is in charge of all vet payments and Dogs R Life are not responsible for any vet bills. If any accident/ emergencies occur whilst in the care of Dogs R Life, staff will get the pet to their vet or the closes one available and will contact the owner. The owner must leave a back up emergency contact for if any medical decisions that need to be made.

Insurance & DBS 

All Dogs R Life staff are fully insured with Pet Plan Insurance and are insured for public liability, Injury to animals, key cover etc. All staff also have been DBS checked.

Weather

If the weather conditions are severe and seem unfit for walking in, then Dogs R Life ltd will contact all of the customers to let them know if the walks will be cancelled or will go ahead. It is down to the owner of the dog and Dogs R Life Ltd staff to decide together what is the best for the dog(s). If weather is so severe that dogs walks are not safe, customers will only be charged 50% of the fee of the usual walk.

Vaccinations 

All pets must have up to date flea, tick and worm treatments. If your pet has any contagious illness, you must let Dogs R Life know as soon as possible and this might mean any bookings need to be cancelled. If this is in a 24 hour period, you will not have to pay for the cancellation. 

 

Medication

Dogs R Life are happy to apply topical medication, or give tablets and medicine orally, (given clear instruction how to first) but staff are not trained to give controlled drugs or medication by injection currently. If there are any side affects of medication given by Dogs R Life Ltd employees at the wish of the owner, this will be reported to the owner but this is not the responsibility of Dogs R Life Ltd employees. 

 

First Aid 

Staff at Dogs R Life are trained in animal first aid. A first aid kit will be taken on all walks in case of an emergency, If an event occurs where first aid is needed, staff will do what they can to give first aid before getting the injured animal to the vet if the owner gives permission in the meet and greet.

 

Information about animals

All information given to Dogs R Life should be to the best of the customers knowledge. Any incidents in the past and present should be shared with Dogs R Life ltd so if any changes are necessary, they can be put into place before the next walk. If customers dogs are reactive then they MUST tell Dogs R Life employees. 

 

Collar/ Leads

All dogs and cats have to have a collar with the name of the owners and their contact details on before Dogs R Life agree to dog walk/pet sit. All dogs must have leads provided by owners and will only be let off the lead if given permission by owners/staff think it is safe to do so and and if dogs have good recall. 

 

Vehicles

When picking up dogs on group walks, staff will ensure all dogs already in vehicles are secured safely and the doors will be locked whilst they pick up the others. Vehicles will be parked outside they house they are collecting from. If it is warmer weather, the windows will be slightly down. Dogs will be in vehicles for the least time possible. 

 

Hot Weather 

When the weather starts to become warmer, Dogs R Life will offer early morning walks to customers or pop in services to customers that need their dog/s seeing to at mid day. They will always go to shaded walks, slower walks, walks with rivers and carry plenty of water for the dogs. Dogs R Life will not put any dogs at risk of heat stroke and if it is getting too hot, they will cancel the walk with as much notice as they can. Any dogs will not be walked at temperatures over 23 degrees celsius. 

 

House Stays

An information sheet/email should be left/sent prior to Dogs R Life staying at the customers home. Details of emergency numbers should be left and details of where water and power shut off points should also be included. 

When staying at your house, Dogs R Life employees will clean up after themselves and after your pets as best they can. If there are any cleaning products that cannot be used on specific surfaces etc please let staff know before their stay. Currently, Dogs R Life are only able to offer a maximum of 7 days pet sitting.

 

Emergencies

At least 2 emergency contacts should be given to Dogs R Life Staff, so that they can always be contacted if need be. If an emergency occurs, employees will aim to take your pet to their vet but will ultimately take them to the closest if need be. The owner will be informed on the emergency contact. If any serious decisions need making on the animals health, that will be down to the emergency contacts, but if staff cannot get hold of said persons, they will make a decision that they think is in the best interest for the animal.

 

Payments

Dog walking payments are due on receipt. If payment is not received before another service is due to happen, then the service will be cancelled until payment has been received. If payment has not been given due to an unforeseen circumstance, then please email dogsrlifedevon@gmail.com, send a text or phone us asap and then future bookings may be discussed. 

Full pet sitting payments will expected at the commencement of the service.
